Extensive manhunt continues for escaped prisoners

By BBN Staff: The Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams along with officers from the Belize Police Department and the Belize Defence Force (BDF) continue in an extensive manhunt for escaped prisoners.

Last night 28 prisoners escaped from the Belize Central Prison after attacking 3 prison guards and escaping with a weapon.

So far, authorities have captured Mark Pelayo, the others remain at large.

Police have also increased their presence at the prison where there was an uproar in Tango 7 this morning.

The prisoners are considered to be armed and dangerous.
