Inmate who was shot during riot in prison dies

By BBN Staff: Inmate, Stephen Jenkins, who was shot this morning during a riot at the Belize Central prison has died.

During the riot in tango 7, prison guards and police tried to control the inmates and shots were fired.

This was after the inmates had attacked and injured 2 prison guards.

Jenkins had been serving 20 years after being charged for the manslaughter of Dennis Williams in 2012.
