Two officers reportedly shot trying to apprehend escaped prisoners

By BBN Staff: Two officers from the Belize Special Assignment Group (BSAG) were reportedly shot this afternoon during the ongoing manhunt for the escaped prisoners from the Belize Central Prison.

BBN received information that they came under fire under near an orange orchard on the Coastal Road and were injured in the process.

Police have reportedly deployed an additional support team to the area.

It is believed that many of the escapees are somewhere between Miles 17-31 of the George Price Highway.

Those in the area are asked to exercise extreme caution as the prisoners are considered armed and dangerous.
