By BBN Staff: Tomorrow, October 15, Global handwashing day will be observed under the theme, “Hand Hygiene for all”.

Now, more than ever, health professionals and educators are emphasizing the importance of frequent and proper handwashing.

The practice of proper hand hygiene and educating young children on how handwashing reduces the spread of many diseases and is key in reducing the spread of COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health, UNICEF Belize, Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture Belize Red Cross and Belize Social Investment Fund have jointly launched a Facebook awareness campaign inviting families to show each step in handwashing and receive a token from the Ministry.
