Breaking: Controversial “prisoner confession” videos not taken by Police, Commissioner says

By Aaron Humes: The series of videos leaked to media houses yesterday in which one of the recaptured prisoners who escaped on Monday claimed they had assistance from prison guards to escape was an unprofessional affair and the end product has no credence, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams said today.

Moreover, and more importantly, the Police Department had nothing to do with it.

Williams said the matter is being investigated as a national security concern, but right off the top, any claim by the prisoner that he was voluntarily giving the recorded statement is negated by the obvious fact that he was under gunpoint and clearly in distress.

The prisoner is back in jail but the Commissioner judged that he did not need additional protection, warning that if any prison authorities mistreated him, they too would answer to Police.
