By BBN Staff: The Orange Walk, Belize and Corozal districts continue to lead the current surge of COVID-19 cases in Belize. Of 264 samples processed today, 63 new cases were identified, and 59 of them were detected in these three (3) districts. Orange Walk had 25 new cases, Corozal had 24 and the Belize district had 10.
The distribution of the 63 new cases is as follows:
Cayo – 1 in Belmopan
Stann Creek – 1 in Hope Creek
Toledo – 2 (1 in Punta Gorda, 1 Big Falls)
Belize – 10 (4 Belize City, 4 Western Pines, 1 Ladyville, 1 Kolbe)
Corozal – 24 (3 Corozal Town, 5 Santa Clara, 4 San Joaquin, 3 Caledonia, 1 Concepcion, 1 San Victor, 1 Calcutta, 1 Paraiso, 2 San Narciso, 1 Cristo Rey, 1 Copper Bank, 1 from OW Town)
Orange Walk – 25 (12 Orange Walk Town, 2 San Jose Palmar, 1 Trial Farm, 1 San Antonio, 2 Guinea Grass, 1 San Estevan, 1 San Lazaro, 1 San Felipe, 2 San Jose, 1 Yo Creek, 1 from Xaibe in Corozal)
There were only 16 recovered cases today. Active cases have now jumped the 1,000 mark, increasing to 38.4% of total cases.
