COVID-19 Update: 47 new cases identified

By BBN Staff: Data from the Ministry of Health indicate that of the 326 samples processed today, 47 new cases of COVID-19 were identified.

The rate of positive cases among samples processed is 14.4%.

The geographic breakdown of the new cases is as follows:

Corozal – 13 (Corozal Town 4, San Andres 4, San Joaquin 3, Chunox 1, 1 Swabbed in Corozal but from OWT)

Orange Walk – 1 (San Pablo)

Belize – 26 (City 19, Sandhill 2, 1 each from Ladyville, Maskall, Caye Caulker, Burrell Boom and Grace Bank)

Cayo – 4 (1 Belmopan, 1 San Ignacio, 1 Benque, 1 San Jose Succotz)

Toledo – 3 (all from Bladden Village)

Twenty two more patients recovered from the virus.

In total, 1648 patients in Belize have recovered from the virus.
