By BBN Staff: The San Ignacio/ Santa Elena (SISE) Town Council is calling on residents in the twin towns to assist in a public project to clean up the Santa Rita and Santa Elena Cemeteries.

The SISE Town Council issued a pubic notice today, asking those with loved ones buried in those cemeteries to assist in cleaning up the tombs and the area around those tombs. The council also asked, if possible, that loved ones paint those tombs.

“As we near the All Saints Day and All Souls Day, we would want to have the tombs looking bright and beautiful!” the Council said.

Notably, the current COVID-19 prevention regulations still prohibit gatherings in excess of 10 people in a given space. Breaking Belize News reminds those headed out to the cemeteries to be aware of the regulations and stay safe by wearing masks and practice social distancing.
