Ministry of Health feel more strain with rising COVID-19 infection rates; Health officials looking for temp doctors and nurses

Posted: Monday, October 19, 2020. 7:05 am CST.

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health (MOH) is seeking applicants to fill temporary positions for doctors and nurses.

The MOH issued a public notice this week saying that positions are open for registered nurses and general practitioners.

The term for the positions will be between three months and six months.

Interested applicants need to submit copies of their resume, certifications, licenses to practice, social security card, birth certificate or passport to [email protected]

Notably, many healthcare workers had to come off the job temporarily, due to COVID-19 infection. Data from the MOH released earlier this month shows that 12 doctors, 16 nurses, and 13 “other” healthcare workers had been infected by the virus, causing a strain on Belize’s health system.
