New gas prices effective at midnight; Premium going down, regular going up

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has announced that as of tomorrow, October 20, the price per gallon of Premium fuel will be going down and the price per gallon of Regular fuel will be going up.

The MOF said that Premium gasoline will decrease by 16 cents from $9.36 to $9.20 per gallon, while Regular gasoline will register an increase by 25 cents from $8.61 to $8.86 per gallon.

Meanwhile, the prices of kerosene and diesel will remain unchanged at $5.43 and $8.33 per gallon, respectively.

“The price change reflects the current demand and supply conditions of crude oil in the international petroleum market and fluctuations in the acquisition price of refined fuel products in the countries from which Belize obtains its supplies,” the Ministry said.

The MOF added that the Government of Belize continues to closely monitor the price movements and supply conditions and will work with the fuel industry to safeguard the prices that Belizeans pay at the pump.
