Wilbert Lambey gets a year in jail for firearm offenses

By BBN Staff: Dangriga resident, Wilbert Lambey, 44, will be spending the next year at the Belize Central Prison after he pleaded guilty to having an unlicensed gun and ammunition.

Dangriga Police caught Lambey with the gun and live ammunition at a checkpoint set up at Pomona Village on Sunday night.

Following his guilty plea, the magistrate took into consideration the mitigation plea of three witnesses as well as the fact that it was his first offense and sentenced Lambey to a year for each charge which will run concurrently.
