Man dies while welding under a pickup truck

By BBN Staff: Authorities are awaiting the results of a postmortem examination to get some answers into a sudden death that occurred in San Ignacio, Cayo, yesterday.

Ana Choto, told police that around 4:12 p.m. her husband Ellis Gomez was welding under a pickup truck with a 220-volt welding machine when she heard him screaming. She said that ran to check on him but when she arrived he was unresponsive.

Family members rushed Gomez to the San Ignacio Community Hospital, where was pronounced dead around 4:23 p.m.

The family is awaiting a post-mortem.
