By BBN Staff: Data from the Ministry of Health indicate that 270 frontline workers in Belize have tested positive for COVID-19.
Those front line workers include 80 officers of the Belize Defence Force and 74 police officers.
Twenty-seven Coast Guard Officers have also tested positive for COVID-19. Five law enforcement officers classified as ‘other law enforcement’ also tested positive.
As for health professionals who have tested positive, those include 24 nurses, 17 doctors, 18 hospital workers, 18 other healthcare workers, and 7 health inspectors.
The Ministry provided the statistics in commemoration of World Statistics Day. This ties into this year’s theme, “Connecting the world with data we can trust”.
