By BBN Staff: The latest data released from the Ministry of Health (MOH) shows 53 newly-confirmed cases of COVID-19.
The MOH said that the positive cases came from a batch of 339 samples and that the country’s positivity rate stands at 15.6 percent.
The newly-confirmed cases are distributed as follows: Corozal – 1 Town; Orange Walk – 24 (11 Town, 7 Trial Farm, 1 San Estevan, 1 Chan Pine Ridge, 1 Carmelita, 1 San Felipe, 1 Trinidad, 1 from Belize City City); Belize – 7 (3 City, 3 Kolbe {Foundation}, 1 San Pedro); Cayo – 10 (3 Belmopan, 2 San Ignacio, 3 Santa Familia, 1 San Jose Succotz, 1 from Maya Mopan, SC); Stann Creek – 4 (2 Dangriga, 1 Georgetown, 1 from Bella Vista, TOL); and Toledo – 7 (1 Punta Gorda, 4 San Pedro Columbia, 1 San Miguel, 1 Golden Stream).
The MOH added that there were 35 recovered cases and a total of 38.6 percent of cases remain active.
There are also 6 patients (five males and one female) who are at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. Of those patients, one person intubated referred from the Northern Health Region, three are hemodialysis patients.
“The Northern Regional Hospital has 4 patients in their unit, 3 confirmed as positive, one as a highly-suspect case,” the MOH added.
