Atlantic Bank discontinuing the use of savings books

Posted: Wednesday, October 21, 2020. 3:23 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Atlantic Bank Limited has announced that, as of October 30, it will no longer be using Savings Passbooks, which is a dying practice in the banking world.

Even before the complete phaseout of the books, Atlantic Bank says that the $6 fee for withdrawals done without Savings Passbooks has been discontinued.

The bank also noted that savings account statements can be obtained free of charge from customer service representatives up until December 2020.

Atlantic Bank was one of the only banks that still employed the use of Savings Passbooks, a practice now carried on solely in Belize by Heritage bank.
