BREAKING NEWS: Patrick Faber nominated for general elections in Collet

By Aaron Humes: UDP Leader and area representative for Collet Patrick Faber says it feels like the first time, even though he has been nominated in his sixth election campaign – five general, one municipal.

This time, he goes in as the leader of the United Democratic Party and holder of its mantle to be Prime Minister.

He says it’s a wonderful feeling nonetheless.

Faber was flanked by right-hand man Roosevelt Blades and his nominators as he walked up Antelope Street from his constituency office to Gwen Lizarraga High School, the place of nomination.

After, he said the Opposition had let down the country and its supporters by allowing some motorcades and failing to enforce mask-wearing and social distancing, particularly its leader John Briceno.

In contrast, Faber’s supporters lined Antelope Street socially distanced and did not approach their candidate, though cheered for him.

That long-standing relationship, he says, is what he thinks will propel him to victory once again.
