COVID-19 Update: 58 new cases identified in Belize

By BBN Staff: The Office of the Director of Health Services (DHS) informed that a record number of samples were processed today.

Of the total of 437 tests, 58 returned positive for COVID-19. 

The breakdown of the new cases is as follows:

Corozal – 11 (5 Town, 2 Carolina, 1 Santa Clara, 1 Caledonia, 1 San Andres, 1 San Joaquin)

Orange Walk – 19 (9 Town, 4 San Jose, 2 Trial Farm, 1 San Pablo, 1 San Estevan, 1 San Felipe, 1 from San Roman CZL but swabbed at NRH)

Belize – 5 (2 City, 1 San Pedro, 1 Hattieville, 1 from San Felipe swabbed in City)

Cayo – 10 (2 Belmopan, 1 Roaring Creek, 2 San Ignacio, 1 Santa Elena, 2 Camp Belizario Central Farm, 1 Blackman Eddy, 1 Bullet Tree Falls)

Stann Creek = 13 (7 Georgetown, 2 Cowpen, 1 Hopkins, 3 from Bella Vista swabbed in Independence).

Seventy more patients recovered from the virus today.

Health officials are now monitoring 1,123 active cases of COVID-19.
