“No testing requirements to leave Belize,” says Ministry of Health

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health (MOH) is reminding Belizeans that there are no testing requirements from Belizean authorities to leave the country.

Director of Health Services Dr. Marvin Manzanero explained today that the Ministry has been getting frequent requests for COVID-19 testing from people wishing to travel outside of Belize.

“There is no specific requirement for Belizeans that are leaving, which means that you don’t need a PCR test when you are leaving,” Manzanero said. He noted that some countries require a PCR test for entry, but those requesting the test from the Ministry of Health will need to provide proof that the country is requesting the test, and they will also need to provide the reason for their leaving the country. “People that are leaving for non-essential purposes are not routinely being considered to get a PCR test for when you leave,” Manzanero added.
