CORONAVIRUS: Three Important Things You Must Know

Paid contribution: COVID-19 has taken over the world. People who were completely healthy just days ago are dead today. Washing your hands, wearing a mask, and distancing may help in keeping the virus from spreading but will not keep you from dying. There are three things you must know …   

1) IT’S APPOINTED MAN ONCE TO DIE   

If you don’t die from the Coronavirus you will die from another cause …guaranteed. 10 out of 10 people will die.   

God tells us “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). You will be judged for every thought, word, and deed you committed in your life. Every single lie, theft, fornication, drunkenness, blasphemy, pride, and more will be judged. All have sinned and fallen short of Gods glory. No one is good …not even one. When you step into His courtroom your opinions and thoughts won’t matter. You know God exists. No one needs to tell you that you’ll be guilty. Your conscience already testifies of your guilt. Because God is Holy, Righteous, and Just, He must punish all sinners. But there is hope… 

2) TODAY IS THE DAY   

God commands all men everywhere to repent because “He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised Him from the dead” (Acts 17:31). Today is the day of salvation. God’s arm is not too short to save. You must Repent (turn from your sin) and Believe the Gospel. If you don’t see yourself as a sinner you’ll die and go to hell. Jesus Christ came to save sinners.  

3) ONE WAY   

There is only ONE way you can be saved from the wrath to come. Jesus Christ said “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me”. No other way is acceptable to God. It pleased God to crush His Son on that cross so sinners could be set free. God has spoken …ONE WAY.   

The good news is that Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life (Heb. 4:15). He is God in the flesh (Jn. 1:1). The Bible says that He literally “became sin for us” that we might become “the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Cor. 5:21). You cannot stand before God in your own righteousness. That kind of righteousness is repulsive to God (Is. 64:6)! He offers those who will come to Him His own righteousness so that you will be clothed in it on the Day of Judgment, and not in your own. When you repent, an exchange takes place; your sins are laid upon Christ and His righteousness is imputed to you. Romans 5:8-9 tells us that “God demonstrated His love for us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more than being justified by His blood we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” He made a way. This is wonderful news.   

“Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool” (Isaiah 1:18).   

IS THE CORONAVIRUS A JUDGMENT FROM GOD?   

No one can presume to explain WHY God does anything. But we know this: When Jesus talked about judgment, He took the emphasis off WHY it happened and put it on WHAT we should do next…   

“Those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them: do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who lived in Jerusalem? No, I tell you; but UNLESS YOU REPENT, YOU WILL ALL LIKEWISE PERISH” (Luke 13:4-5).   

Friends, we love you enough to tell you the truth. Today 150,000 people will die (globally). Your day has already been appointed by God. Make sure you’re ready. If you will not repent, you will perish in your sins. Repent and turn to Christ before it’s too late!
