By BBN Staff: A total of 88 Belizeans were nominated on Wednesday, October 21 to represent their respective constituencies in the upcoming November 11 general elections.

The major political parties, UDP and PUP each nominated their 31 candidates.

The Belize Progressive Party (BPP) nominated 13 and the Belize People’s Front (BPF) nominated 8.

Five independent candidates were nominated including former UDP supporters Melvin Hulse and Anna Banner Guy.

The candidates will contest the upcoming general elections as Belize faces the COVID-19 pandemic.
