Public Service Walk opened in Belmopan

By Aaron Humes: Belize’s unsung heroes will get their due with a new installation in the capital.

The Public Service Walk of Recognition and Inspiration takes up the sidewalk between the Angelus Press and Belize Bank going up to the stairs of the National Assembly.

Two categories of public officers will be recognized: those serving for at least 30 years and those seen to be showing initiative and heroism. Names selected by an independent committee will then be engraved on the Walk.

CEO Dr. Peter Allen expects there will be no shortage of names to be recognized, both in the present and the future.

The Ministry of the Public Service collaborated with the Belmopan City Council after the usual Public Service Awards ceremony this year was canceled due to COVID-19.
