Posted: Saturday, October 24, 2020. 8:57 am CST.

By BBN Staff: The National Meteorological Service says we can expect showery conditions for most of the weekend due to an unstable atmosphere.

Over the next 24 hours, expect cloudy skies with at first showers, isolated thunderstorms and rain across the North, then increasing and spreading to most areas later.

Winds are from the west to northwest at five to 15 knots and gusty; seastate is slight to rough and a small craft caution is in effect for the possibility of gusty winds and locally rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms.

A Flood Watch is in effect for the possibility of flooding over low-lying and flood prone areas across the country.

Temperatures will reach 86 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 90 degrees Fahrenheit in inland areas and 80 degrees in the hills. Low temperatures tonight are 77 along the coast, 74 inland and 68 in the hills.

Tides will be low at 11:33 a.m. and 10:50 p.m. and high at 6:01 p.m. The Sun sets at 5:24 p.m. this evening and rises Sunday morning at 5:49 a.m.

In the Tropical Weather Outlook, at 3:00 a.m. the center of Hurricane Epsilon was located near latitude 36.9N, longitude 62.0W, or about 355 miles NNE of Bermuda. Epsilon was moving to the NNE at 12mph with maximum sustained winds near 75mph. A broad area of low pressure located just southwest of Grand Cayman is becoming better organized and it is likely to become a tropical depression within the next day or so as it drifts toward the north and northwest. Otherwise no activity is expected over the next 48 hours.

The extended outlook through Sunday night is for continuing isolated showers and thunderstorms countrywide with the chance of more for the South.

Our thanks to forecaster Ronald Gordon at the Belize Weather Bureau, Ladyville.
