Woman sustains burn injuries trying to save her items from house fire

By BBN Staff: A woman from San Miguel, Toledo sustained burn injuries to her hand while trying to save her items from a house fire.

Alicia Jucub, 28, reported that around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, she noticed smoke coming from a bedroom.

Jucub says that she didn’t see how the fire started but tried to save some of her household items.

The 20×24 wooden home was destroyed by the fire.

Jucub was transported to the Punta Gorda Hospital where she received medical treatment for burns to both her hands and was released.

The cause of the fire and damages is yet to be ascertained.
