39 new cases of COVID-19 reported, majority in Corozal, Belize and Stann Creek districts

By Aaron Humes: From 250 samples processed today, 39 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in four districts for a total of 1,134 active cases countrywide. This is 36 percent of all cases.

The Corozal, Belize and Stann Creek Districts reported double digit numbers with 12, 13 and 11 cases, and three in Toledo.

The Corozal cases are reported in Corozal Town (seven); two (2) each in Chunox and Cristo Rey and one (1) in San Joaquin.

Belize City added 10 cases; Burrell Boom added one (1) and two (2) were reported at Price Barracks, the headquarters of the Belize Defense Force in Ladyville.

In Stann Creek, three (3) cases came from the Placencia outpost of Riversdale; two from Hopkins; one from Independence; and five from Bella Vista. Bella Vista village is geographically in the Stann Creek district but for health and other administrative purposes is managed as part of the Stann Creek district.

Bladen and San Pedro Columbia accounted for the three (3) cases in Toledo.

Forty more cases were reported as recovered for a total of 1,961.
