By Aaron Humes: An unwanted milestone was reached on Sunday in terms of Belize’s fight with COVID-19.
The Ministry of Health has reported the 50th death of a Belizean with COVID-19, a man in his 80s who died at the Northern Regional Hospital, Orange Walk Town.
With 3,145 total cases since the start of the pandemic here, this 50th death brings the national case fatality rate to 1.59 percent.
Six persons are hospitalized at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, one on ventilation.
