Almost a quarter of samples tested positive for COVID-19; 55 new cases detected

By BBN Staff: After processing 246 samples on Monday, 55 new cases of COVID-19 were identified, representing almost a quarter (ie. 22.4%) of the samples processed.

The 55 new cases are distributed as follows:

Corozal – 6 (2 Louisville, 2 San Narciso, 1 Libertad, 1 San Pedro Village)

Orange Walk – 26 (9 Town, 2 San Lazaro, 3 Petville, 3 San Jose Palmar, 2 Trial Farm, 2 Yo Creek, 2 Guinea Grass, 1 Fire Burn, 1 San Felipe, 1 from San Narciso CZ)

Belize – 7 (4 City, 2 Ladyville, 1 San Pedro)

Cayo –  8 (1 Belmopan, 3 Santa Elena, 1 San Ignacio, 1 Central Farm, 1 Valley of Peace, 1 Esperanza)

Stann Creek – 2 (1 from Bella Vista TOL, 1 from Bladen TOL)

Toledo – 6 (5 Bladen, 1 Golden Stream)

There were 70 recoveries bringing the total recoveries to 2,031. Active cases are now 1,118 and represents 34.9% of positive cases.
