Cancer Society’s San Ignacio Branch cancels annual awareness walk due to COVID-19

By BBN Staff: The San Ignacio Branch of the Belize Cancer Society announced today that it will not be holding its annual Cancer Awareness Walk due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“We recognize that this is an event that our entire community looks forward to and know that it is important to still acknowledge what would have been our Branch’s 8th Annual Walk,” the organization explained.

In place of the walk, the branch will be holding a digital event, using the social media platforms Facebook and Instagram to highlight its past 8 years of service and acknowledge the businesses, donors, patients, and their families that have enabled the branch to carry out its functions. The digital event is scheduled for Saturday, October 31.
