BREAKING: Interim injunction request to postpone general elections denied to Belize PEACE Movement

Posted: Wednesday, October 28, 2020. 3:06 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: Chief Justice Michelle Arana has denied the Belize PEACE Movement’s request for an interim injunction to postpone the November 2020 general elections.

Arguments were presented in favor and against redistricting of electoral divisions before this election rather than the next this morning and afternoon by the representatives of the Belize PEACE Movement, Lord Michael Ashcroft, the Government and the People’s United Party, but the Chief Justice was not swayed by the former.

We are awaiting further comment and will have more details later.
