Three detained for domestic dispute turned stabbing

By Aaron Humes: A Belize City couple’s domestic dispute escalated to a stabbing when her family got involved.

Senior Superintendent of Police Hilberto Romero said a male minor was in the hospital with stab wounds to the abdomen.

The boy and his girlfriend, also a minor, were arguing at the residence on McKay Boulevard when she called for her family to help her move from the couple’s home. The girl’s family reportedly got into an altercation with the boy and he was stabbed.

Police say that another man, Ruben Lopez also received a cut wound to the hand. Three persons are in police custody and police are expected to move forward with charges in connection with this incident.
