By BBN Staff: The Belize Progressive Party’s (BPP)s Wil Maheia, standard bearer for the Fort George Constituency is helping schools in the area with their COVID-19 response through a donation of thermometers.
Maheia gave thermometers to Holy Redeemer Rc School, St. Mary’s Anglican Primary School, Queen Street Baptist Primary School, Ebenezer Methodist Primary School, and Ethel Vargas Preschool on Wednesday.
“COVID is a serious thing. We have parents coming in and going out of these schools for packages, so we figured the thermometers would assist in keeping the teachers and the parents safe and help to minimize the spread of the virus,” Maheia said.
Maheia added that he has been on the ground meeting constituents as best as possible, but notes that he and his team are being mindful of the protocols set in place by the National COVID-19 Oversight Committee to keep area residents safe as they campaign.
With just under two weeks to go before the November 11 General Elections, Maheia said that he is ready to make the historic jump into being a seated third-party area representative.
