Belize selected as a TripSavvy Editors’ Choice award winner

By Aaron Humes: Belize as a tourism destination continues to win plaudits abroad, with the latest being the 2020 TripSavvy Editors’ Choice Award for Industry Leaders per the Belize Tourism Board (BTB). 

Ahead of the high season for Belizean tourism, the Jewel has been recognized, the Board said in a statement, by one of the world’s top 10 travel information sites which reaches over 2 million travelers. 

The editors and writers responsible for the award selection discarded the usual year’s worth of ratings and reviews and focused on businesses and industries that overwhelmingly met the moment: meaningful solutions with the end goals of staying afloat, protecting their people, and making a difference during a year that’s been challenging for so many reasons. 

The award recognizes Belize’s robust measures and protocols in response to Covid-19 and according to the Board, it would not have been possible without stakeholders’ commitment to Gold Standard service and training.
