Bus operators advised to refrain from carrying standees

By BBN Staff: The Belize Traffic Department issued a statement today reminding all bus drivers and conductors to refrain from carrying passengers in excess of the seating capacity.

In addition, they are to sanitize buses before transporting passengers.

Bus drivers who are caught transporting excessive passengers will be prosecuted.

Commuters are advised to ensure that they purchase their ticket(s) in order to board the bus en route to their desired destination.

Additionally, commuters are urged to comply with the protocols of social distancing, use of face mask, and proper hand sanitizing.
