By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Office of the Director of Health Services (DHS) informed that in the last 24 hours, there have been 4 COVID-19 deaths.
A male patient who was in his 40’s died at the Northern Regional Hospital after being hospitalized for approximately 12 hrs. He had underlying medical conditions.
The second patient, a male in his 70’s had underlying conditions and passed away at a private facility in Belize City.
Two female patients also died, one at the KHMH COVID-19 unit. She had been referred from the Northern Regional Hospital.
The second female patient was swabbed post mortem as she died outside of the hospital setting but was a close contact of a confirmed case.
Belize’s fatality rate now stands at 1.66%.
