By BBN Staff: Early today, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported that it was monitoring a system that has become better organized in association with a tropical wave located over the Eastern Caribbean Sea.

The system in the Caribbean could become Tropical Storm Eta by this weekend.

If Eta is formed, it may affect Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Belize.

The NHC says that the disturbance is being closely monitored and the possibility of a 28th named storm is at 70%.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season runs from June to November and there have been 27 named storms in this year’s season.
