Caledonia R.C. Student wins BEL’s essay competition

By BBN Staff: Kayleen Lewis, a student of Caledonia R.C. School in Corozal won Belize Electricity Limited (BEL)’s 2020 Safety and Health Week Essay Competition.

Lewis won $5,000 for her school’s COVID-19 safety preparations and distance learning, and $500 cash for herself.

As part of BEL’s 2020 Safety and Health Week, students countrywide were invited to participate in the first-ever essay competition in relation to the company’s Safety & Health Week, observed on September 14-18, 2020.

Students were encouraged to submit a 400-word essay that reflects their interpretation of BEL’s 2020 Safety & Health Week Theme: Let’s do our part to control this Pandemic: Wear Masks! Wash Hands! Avoid Crowds!
