PUP plans to build first class tourist destination and level-up Belize brand

By BBN Staff: The People’s United Party (PUP) has launched its Tourism plan as part of its Plan Belize manifesto.

The tourism industry is directly and indirectly responsible for 25% of the jobs in the country and is also the number one foreign exchange earner.

The PUP says that though the Tourism industry has recorded growth over the years, there is still more to do.

Included in their plans is to build Belize as a first class tourist destination and build a world class brand where the name Belize is highly recognized.

The party plans to continue to build a first-class tourist destination with little interference of the natural and human resources.

In addition, the party says that it will create more equity throughout the tourism industry.

The PUP pledges also to ensure that Belizeans have an opportunity to invest and own their fair share of the tourism industry.
