Former government Minister, Ainsley Leslie laid to rest

By BBN Staff: Today, a state funeral was held in the Cayo district for former government minister Ainslie “Brother Les” Leslie.

Brother Les was laid to rest following a memorial service held at Sacred Heart Church in San Ignacio, this afternoon.

Leslie enjoyed an extensive career in both the public and private sectors, serving as the People’s United Party (PUP) Area Representative for Cayo North Constituency from 1998-2008. Brother Les was also Minister of State in the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment, Commerce, and Industry, under the Said Musa Administration.

As a businessman, Brother Les was involved in wholesale and retail vending as well as cable operations in San Ignacio and Benque Viejo del Carmen.

He died last week due to complications related to COVID-19.
