By BBN Staff: The latest data from the Ministry of Health (MOH) shows another 47 newly-identified cases of COVID-19.
The data, released by the Office of the Director of Health Services (ODHS) tonight, says that the new cases were identified from a batch of 176 samples.
The newly-confirmed cases are distributed, by district, as follows: Corozal – 9 (3 Town, 2 San Andres, 1 Paraiso, 1 Ranchito, 1 Calcutta, 1 San Narciso); Orange Walk – 15 (9 Town, 5 Trial Farm, 1 Carmelita); Belize – 10 (5 City, 1 Ladyville, 1 Sandhill, 1 Burrell Boom, 1 Lucky Strike, 1 Crooked Tree); Cayo – 11 (4 Belmopan, 2 San Ignacio, 2 Benque Viejo Del Carmen, 1 Teakettle, 1 San Jose Succotz, 1 Duck Run 3); Toledo – 2 in Punta Gorda.
The ministry noted that, with the new cases taken into consideration, the country has a COVID-19 positivity rate of 26.7%.
“There were 23 recovered cases today so that 36.8% of our cases are active,” the ODHS said. “Tonight, 2 patients remain intubated at KHMH’s ICU Covid-19 unit.”
