By BBN Staff: Cumulative data from the Ministry of Health (MOH) shows that males have been more affected by the COVID-19 pandemic than females.

The MOH’s latest infographic shows that of the 3,624 confirmed cases in Belize 1,980 of them were males as opposed to the 1,644 females.

Of the currently active cases, 740 of them are males while 595 of them are females.

With respect to deaths associated with the virus, 40 of the 59 total deaths have been males and only 19 have been females.

Notably, since men have had greater incidents of infection, men also represent the majority of Belize’s COVID-19 recoveries, with the split being 1,220 males and 10,30 females.
