PUP pledges to improve testing capacity and decentralize testing system of COVID-19

Posted: Tuesday, November 3, 2020. 4:20 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: The People’s United Party (PUP) issued a statement today pledging to improve the testing capacity and decentralize the testing system of COVID-19.

The PUP says that it will implement a comprehensive and effective COVID-19 plan.

The party extended gratitude to all frontline workers and support teams.

“We also, at this time, extend our condolences and prayers to those who have lost loved ones to this pandemic. It has hit us all hard. We are committed, upon forming the next government very soon, to do all necessary to assist our health and security personnel with the resources they need, bolstered by a comprehensive, effective COVID-19 response strategy,” the party said.

The PUP further stated that it will increase the number of contact tracers.

“The faster we are able to identify asymptomatic/symptomatic patients, the more effective we are able to control the spread of the virus. We will commence an aggressive and massive public health campaign, with emphasis on preventive measures,” they added.

In addition, the PUP plan to engage the private sector in the response of COVID-19 and begin to establish mechanisms that call for an integrated health system.

“Our people are resilient, and with the support of a strong government of the PUP, which is determined to do well, we will overcome the challenges posed by this pandemic,” the party affirmed.
