Two more COVID-19 deaths reported; total deaths now at 61

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health reports that there are two (2) more COVID-19 deaths in Belize today. Both victims are females; a total of 61 deaths, made up of 40 males and 21 females, are now attributed to COVID-19.

The first victim, who was in her 60s, is from Corozal and her death is classified as a sudden death. The second case is a female in her 30s from Bella Vista and is related to the cases from the banana farms.

Belize’s case fatality rate is now at 1.61%.

According to the Ministry, two (2) patients remain intubated in the COVID019 unit at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH). Another 7 other patients are currently hospitalized at the KHMH.
