By BBN Staff: A recorded statement from the Ministry of Education to General Managers advises that the Minister of Education has declared the rest of the week “non-school days” due to inclement weather.

An official correspondence from the Ministry was released after the recording and noted that “teachers are advised to work from home for the rest of the week”.

Belize has experienced an increase in rain and issued warnings for flash flooding in certain areas as the region feels the effects of tropical storm Eta, which made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane. The storm has weakened but is expected to affect the region up to the end of the week.
