72 new cases of COVID-19 – Orange Walk continues to dominate new cases

By BBN Staff: Seventy two new cases of COVID-19 were detected today after processing a total of 242 samples. The positivity rate of today’s results was 29.8% and continues to be high as in previous days.

The geographic breakdown of the 72 cases is as follows:

Corozal – 5 (3 Corozal Town, 1 Libertad, 1 Santa Clara)

Orange Walk – 36 (14 Orange Walk Town, 4 Trial Farm, 4 San Jose, 3 Guinea Grass, 2 San Jose Palmar, 2 Douglas, 2 Tower Hill, 1 San Pablo, 1 San Estevan, 1 Santa Cruz, 1 from Progresso, 1 from San Ignacio)

Belize – 5 (4 Belize City, 1 from Blue Creek, Toledo)

Cayo – 3 (1 Belmopan, 1 San Ignacio, 1 Bullet Tree)

Stann Creek – 21 (9 from Bella Vista (Toledo), 3 from Trio (Toledo), 1 from Golden Stream (Toledo), 1 from Bladen (Toledo), 4 Independence, 1 Santa Rosa, 1 Placencia, 1 Red Bank)

Toledo – 2 (1 Punta Gorda Town, 1 Laguna)

There were 30 recoveries today so that 39.9% of total cases are still active.
