Tropical Depression Eta forecasted to regain tropical storm strength tomorrow

By BBN Staff: The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is closely monitoring Tropical Depression Eta which continues to produce heavy rains and life-threatening flooding over parts of Central America.

Eta is located about 60 miles west of La Ceiba, Honduras.

Forecasters say that by tomorrow, Eta could regain tropical storm strength after it moves into the Caribbean Sea tonight.

The center of Eta is expected to approach the Cayman Islands this weekend.

With maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts, the major threat for Belize continues to be flooding caused by torrential rains.

NEMO urges the residents living in flood prone areas to evacuate on time.
