Former UDP associate accuses Rene Montero of fraudulent land deals

Posted: Friday, November 6, 2020. 9:45 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Former UDP associate, Eddie de la Rosa of Buena Vista, Cayo was on the Rise and Shine morning show today on Plus TV.

De la Rosa explained how he spent many days at the Lands Department conducting works for Montero.

Although being paid by the Government of Belize, De la Rosa never received instructions from any Chief Executive Officer but from Montero and his son, he claims.

In addition, De la Rosa said that a lot of Belizeans don’t know they own a piece of land since some Social Security numbers were collected to give people help that never arrived.

Instead, those social security numbers were used to transfer land documents that only transited their name and ended up in the hands of others without their knowledge.

He alleged that even Montero’s secretary didn’t know that land was being passed through her name as well.

The papers were fraudulently signed by someone else before being sold again, he further alleged.

De la Rosa also explained how government equipment is being used to develop Montero’s private farm.
