60 new cases of COVID-19 identified and 23 recoveries reported

By BBN Staff: After processing a total of 187 samples on Saturday, 60 new cases of COVID-19 were identified, representing a positivity rate of 32.1%.

The 60 new cases are distributed as follows:

Corozal – 7 (3 Ranchito, 2 Corozal Town, 1 Santa Clara, 1 San Narciso)

Orange Walk – 15 (6 Orange Walk Town, 4 San Estevan, 2 Douglas, 1 Trial Farm, 1 San Jose Palmar, 1 from San Pedro)

Belize – 15 (11 Belize City, 2 Kolbe, 1 Hattieville, 1 from San Pedro Colombia)

Cayo – 14 (6 from Belmopan, 3 San Jose Succotz, 1 Santa Elena, 1 Benque Viejo del Carmen, 1 Unitedville, 1 Duck Run III, 1 Repatriated case from Santa Cruz, Stann Creek)

Stann Creek – 8 (2 Independence, 1 Santa Rosa, 1 Maya Mopan, 3 Bella Vista (Toledo), 1 San Pablo (Toledo))

There were 23 recoveries today, leaving 1,655 cases or 40.6% of total cases active. 

Total COVID-19 cases detected in Belize is now 4,046 and while 68 individuals have died, a 2,353 others have recovered.
