PM: Rains unprecedented but Belize will rebound

Posted: Saturday, November 7, 2020. 11:02 am CST.

By Aaron Humes: This week’s rains are unprecedented, says Prime Minister Dean Barrow – the records say its like has not been seen in our lifetimes.

And with no let-up in the COVID-19 pandemic, a health crisis potentially looms.

But the Government says it has a plan to restore homes and livelihoods. We will be hearing from the heads of the security, public utilities, transport and other agencies on their efforts and plans.

The Prime Minister noted that the Sun is out and this Saturday is beautiful. He paid tribute to the work of the National Meteorological Service in “tracking and tracing” Eta’s movements and that Belize was not directly impacted, and all public officers for their selfless service.
