Works: Main entrances and exits of Cayo flooded

By Aaron Humes: Belize’s national road network has sustained damages both in vulnerable areas and new ones, says CEO of the Ministry of Works Errol Gentle.

The entrance to Benque Viejo and both entrances to Spanish Lookout are flooded as well as the San Ignacio Low-lying Bridge.

At Mile 38, George Price Highway, repairs were needed for the patch which had lower level fill washed away. Mile 1 of the highway in Belize City and the Northern Road near Ladyville are also damaged, among others.

Prime Minister Dean Barrow made clear that the money is available for rrairs, at least between now and Wednesday’s general election.
