Belizean baker wins Food Network’s Christmas Cookie Challenge

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Belizean baker, Andrea Goossens, won the Food Network’s Christmas Cookie Challenge on its premiere episode last night.

Goossens, an Orange Walk native, participated in the challenge on The Food Network and created a masterpiece, chocolate-made merman.

Introducing her nutcracker to the audience, Andrea said, “ I made a merman nutcracker in honor of my country, Belize. He is a chocolate gingerbread cookie with almond.”

The judges applauded Andrea for her creativity and unique creation.

Goossens expressed her excitement and said that she can’t wait to celebrate with her country and her family.
