Police offer reward for capture of child rapist in Toledo

By BBN Staff: The Belize Police Department announced this week that there is a cash reward being offered for information leading to the apprehension of the person responsible for the heinous rape of a 10-year-old girl in Punta Gorda last week.

Police said that the girl was home alone with her five-year-old sister on Friday, November 6, when two men broke into her home demanding money. They eventually stole $3000 Quetzales from her father’s room, and then one of them raped her. Their baby sitter had reportedly gone to run an errand at the time.

The only description known of the rapist at this time is that he is tall, of slim built and brown complexion.

Police encourage anyone with information to call 922 or the nearest police station.
